This is an authentic evening drinking set featuring a Kurojoka (black sake flask) and 5 sake cups from Kinko Tougei, a prestigious maker of Satsuma-yaki (Kuro-Satsuma), a traditional craft of Kagoshima Prefecture. This is a truly beautiful piece with a distinctive, sturdy, flat form and a deep, lustrous jet-black finish. By placing pre-diluted sweet potato shochu (maewari) in this joko and gently warming it over low heat, you can enjoy authentic shochu with exceptional mellowness and enhanced aroma. [Kiln] Satsuma-yaki Kinko Tougei [Set Contents] - Kurojoka (main body and lid): 1 piece - Ochoko (sake cups): 5 pieces - Tomobako (wooden box) [Product Condition] - This is a deadstock item, carefully stored at home unused. The seal marks from the packaging material on the main body could not be removed even after washing. - Both the joko body and the sake cups are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or noticeable scratches. The handles are also not loose. - The wooden box shows slight signs of age-related changes (such as scuffs) due to storage, but there is no fading of the writing or major damage. *Please check the product condition in the photos. [Usage Precautions] - This vessel is suitable for direct flame, but avoid sudden high heat or dry heating. Please use it by gently warming over low to medium heat. (Not compatible with IH cooktops) There are characters indicating a wedding anniversary on the back of the box. Please consider this before making your decision.
