Heavy mid-century brass caddy with locking “Scotch” & “Rye” decanters—pressed-glass cut-look, ground stoppers, swivel-hinge top, complete with padlock & keys. Description: Well-made mid-century barware set featuring a solid brass carry caddy and two heavy glass decanters labeled Scotch and Rye. The caddy’s top bar lifts on a swivel hinge to load or pour, and a small brass padlock (marked “Genuine Brass – Rustproof – Made in U.S.A.”) with two matching keys secures the set when closed. The bottles are thick, pressed glass made to mimic cut crystal; each has a weighty square stopper with a ground, matte fit at the neck for a tight seal. It displays beautifully on a bar cart and has the substance and feel collectors look for. Historical / contextual note: Locking liquor carriers trace back to the 19th-century tantalus—a show-and-secure way to keep spirits visible yet controlled. By the 1950s–60s, home entertaining brought the idea into modern brass caddies with molded-glass decanters. Size: • Caddy: 12” H (handle up) × 7.5” W × 4” D; top bar lifts on swivel hinge • Each decanter: 9.75” H to stopper top; approx capacity 24-30 oz Condition: • Glass: clear and bright; no chips or cracks noted; ground stoppers seat well. • Brass: honest surface wear and light patina from age/use; presents nicely. • Lock/keys: small vintage padlock with two keys; light oxidation on keys; functions as a display lock. • Clean and ready for gifting or display. Please see photos for close-ups.
