A breathtaking antique handmade filet crochet coverlet worked entirely in cream cotton thread, with a mesmerizing repeating geometric floral pattern — four-petal medallions set within a precise diamond lattice — created entirely through the interplay of open and closed crochet work. Held to the light, the effect is luminous and lace-like. Technique: Filet crochet / openwork lace Pattern: Repeating geometric floral medallion Color: Cream / antique white cotton thread Dimensions: 87 x 72 (queen size) Construction: Entirely handmade Era: Estimated early-to-mid 20th century Condition: Please note that the lower corner has white yarn, compared to a cream-colored fabric on the rest of the coverlet (see last photo--it's tricky to capture but I did my best). I suspect its artisan ran out of the original color and finished with what they had, which adds to the character of this piece. Other than that, there are no major flaws. Stunning as a bed coverlet, layered over a white duvet, draped over a sofa, or hung as a textile wall piece. Hundreds of hours of skilled handwork. 87 long 72 across
