Classic and collectible, this antique Tinkertoy construction set (No. 3 size) includes original wooden rods, spools, and the iconic cylindrical cardboard storage tube. Manufactured by the Toy Tinkers of Evanston, Illinois, this set reflects the early popularity of Tinkertoys—one of America's most beloved building toys. The printed tube features charming graphics of example builds and the classic Tinkertoy – The Wonder Builder branding. The set appears near complete and includes a variety of rods and connector spools in different sizes, allowing for the construction of multiple designs. Also included are pieces of the original instruction/paperwork, which are quite fragile and worn, adding authenticity/historical character. 📏 Measurements: • Tube Size: approx. 3 diameter × 11.5 height ⚠️ Condition Tube shows visible wear, scuffing, edge wear consistent with age Wooden pieces show light wear Set appears near complete (not fully inventoried) Original paperwork is present but very fragile 🕰️ Estimated Year Likely 1920s–1940s, based on tube graphics and construction style. ✨ Fun Fact Tinkertoys were invented by Charles Pajeau and Robert Pettit and became one of the earliest construction toys in the U.S.—even used in engineering education. 🧾 Seller Note While I've done my best to capture any flaws in the photos and video, these are estate items and previously used unless otherwise stated. Review all images carefully before purchasing and feel free to ask any questions.
