Elegant and decorative, this vintage reverse-painted glass clock insert features a colorful songbird perched on a branch, framed by an intricate ornate gold scrollwork border on a rich black background. Originally used as the front panel of a decorative clock, this piece showcases detailed craftsmanship. The bird is rendered in vivid tones of yellow with a red head accent, perched on a branch with green leaves, set against a soft cream background. The surrounding border features delicate Victorian-style gold flourishes, giving the piece a refined look. The artwork is applied to the reverse side, creating a smooth glossy front surface with visible aging on the back—typical of reverse-painted clock glass. 📏 Measurements: • Height: 12 inches • Width: 8 inches ⚠️ Condition Shows age-related wear Reverse paint layer shows visible aging and cracking (see photos) Edges show light wear consistent with removal from clock housing Displays nicely from the front with strong visual appeal. 🕰️ Estimated Year Likely produced in the 1970s ✨ Fun Fact Decorative clock glass panels often featured nature scenes and ornate borders inspired by Victorian design styles. Birds, in particular, were a popular motif symbolizing beauty and peaceful domestic life. 🧾 Seller Note While I've done my best to capture any flaws in the photos and video, these are estate items and previously used unless otherwise stated.
