Known for the rhythmic sound it makes while pouring, this hand-blown clear glass piece features a dramatic four-sided pinched body that creates beautiful vertical folds and light-catching wings. It is topped with its original, solid clear glass ball stopper. This iconic Mid-Century Modern design is most famously associated with Holmegaard of Denmark (specifically designed by Jacob E. Bang in the 1950s). • The Pinch Design: The body features four deep indentations where the glass was pinched while molten. This creates a distinctive internal structure with four separate columns that meet in the center. • The Sound: It is called a Kluk Kluk (or Glug Glug) because of the unique clucking sound it makes as air enters the chambers while pouring liquid. • The Stopper: Yours features a classic clear glass ball stopper, which is a highly desirable and clean look for MCM barware. • Art Nouveau Influence: While produced in the Mid-Century era, the organic, flowing wings created by the pinches give it a clear Art Nouveau aesthetic. Style: Mid-Century Modern / Scandinavian Art Glass Design: Four-chambered Pinch or Dimple form Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or heavy mineral deposits/clouding. (Please see photos for clarity). This decanter is a perfect quiet luxury piece for a minimalist bar setup or a collector of Holmegaard-style art glass.
