Used - Good vintage condition. Original wood handles; interior shows age/oxidation. Early Production West Bend Penguin Hot & Cold Server This is a highly collectible first-edition version of the iconic Penguin server, featuring the original solid wood handles and top knob. Produced in the late 1940s to early 1950s, this model predates the more common plastic/bakelite versions • Exterior: The chrome remains bright and reflective with light surface scratching and swirl marks throughout • Wood Accents: The original wood handles and knob are secure. The finish is thinning/coming off in multiple places on the handles and knob, showcasing the authentic natural wood grain underneath. • Interior: Shows oxidation and dark speckling on the underside of the lid (see photos). • Overall: A sturdy, functional piece of mid-century industrial design with honest wear that confirms its 70+ year history.
