Classic Sheridan silverplate water pitcher with a gracefully bulbous bell form, sweeping ice-guard spout, and a comfortable scrolled handle. The bright mirror polish plays beautifully against the warm, golden-toned interior patina. Made by the Sheridan Silver Company, founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1946 and later based in Taunton, Massachusetts — one of the classic mid-century American silverplate houses. The base carries Sheridan's gothic-script mark with the crown, S, and shield devices above Silverplated. Condition: Very good vintage. Bright, reflective plating overall with only light surface scratching from normal use and polishing; the interior shows an even golden patina. Remnants of an old inventory sticker on the base. No dents, no splits, no plate loss. Please note: silver naturally develops patina and toning over time, so the finish may appear brighter or softer than photographed depending on when it was last polished. - Maker: Sheridan Silver Co., USA - Form: Water pitcher with ice guard - Height: approx. 8.5 - Width: approx. 8 spout to handle - Mouth: approx. 5.75 diameter - Mark: Sheridan (gothic script), crown / S / shield, Silverplated - Era: Mid-20th century (c. 1950s-1960s) A timeless table server that's equally at home pouring iced tea on the porch or holding a bouquet of garden roses.
