The Wadsworth Family Bible is a rare and collectible edition published by M&E Phinney in 1827. This antique family Bible is bound in leather and personalized with the Wadsworth family name, making it a unique and treasured piece for any collector or individual interested in genealogy research. With its original English printing and specialty attributes, this Bible offers a glimpse into the religious and spiritual practices of the Wadsworth family in the 19th century, making it a valuable addition to any collection. Surnames in this Bible: WADSWORTH, TYLER, GOODIER, COOK, BLACKSTONE dates range from 1770-1937. First entry on front cover reads: This Bible was given to Erastus Wadsworth by his father Timothy Wadsworth when he left home to go to Illinois at his death. His wife Mary returned the Bible to the Wadsworth Homestead and the Aunts Mariah and Nancy presented it to Marsden Goodier. This is a wonderful bible that should interest people who collect New England memorabilia and ephemera, particularly New Haven CT as well as New Haven NY where the respective cousins were prominent members of society. Also a priceless keepsake for anyone who has these Wadsworths or Goodiers as ancestors.. This is a well loved Bible so the front board is detached and there is staining, too. See pics and ask any further questions that you may have.
