Vintage mid-century Merrythought Gran'Pop monkey pajama case (pyjama case), based on Lawson Wood's character. Identification confirmed by Merrythought Ltd., which supplied a 1939 catalogue image of this 25-inch Gran'Pop pyjama case, model ZNC1827. Gran'Pop was first produced in 1938 and continued, save the wartime hiatus, through 1964. Distinctive gray eyebrows, gray sideburns, and sleepy-eyed expression. Mohair plush body with velvet hands and feet, kapok stuffing, and FLASH metal zipper on storage pouch. Original label reads Merrythought – Ironbridge Shrops – Made in England. • Height: ~25 AI-rendered first image; see photos for exact item. Good vintage condition with age-related plush thinning. Small fabric tear atop right foot with stuffing visible. Interior pouch is well preserved, clean, fluffy, and intact. Zipper works properly.
