Presenting a masterpiece artwork panel by Banksy, a dominant force in the contemporary art world. This iconic piece features a striking red gradient with bold contrasts and vivid colors, exuding an intense atmosphere. Artwork Title: BEGGING FOR CHANGE (Keep your coins, I want change) Year Created: 2004 Location: Melbourne, Australia Background: A Declaration of Independence from Charity In 2004, Banksy depicted this homeless individual on the streets of Melbourne. At the time, Banksy was not yet a global superstar and was a wanted fugitive, evading authorities. While the art world was embroiled in a heated debate of graffiti or art?, this piece, imbued with sharp critique, stunned critics. The coins people toss to the homeless are merely a display of the giver's hypocrisy. The homeless person depicted by Banksy rejects this hypocrisy (Keep your coins). What he sought was not mere coins to alleviate temporary hunger, but a fundamental change in the social system that drove him to the streets (Change). [Historical Turning Point: What This Artwork Changed] Following this artwork, Banksy's reputation transformed from just a troublemaker, a graffiti artist to a philosopher who pierces society. It was a decisive moment that elevated street art from dirt to be removed to art to be confronted. While there are rumors of Banksy's association with Australian artist Meek in the background of this work, regardless, there is no doubt that this is a historic piece that visualized the **cry of the have-nots.** [Condition and Specifications] • Size: Width 60cm x Height 40cm x Depth 2.5cm • Weight: Very lightweight (easily handled by women and children with one hand) • Installation: Suitable for both wall hanging and leaning. The surface is free of scratches and fading, appearing as new. There is a mark on the back, possibly from a sticker, but it appears to be removable. As this is a used item, those seeking perfection or who are overly sensitive should refrain from purchasing. #Banksy #StreetArt #ContemporaryArt #ArtPanel #WallArt #ModernInterior #AndyWarhol #Basquiat Click here for the manufacturer's site
