This is a French bow for violin by Marc LABERTE. This is a genuine French bow authenticated by Jean Francois Raffin, a world-renowned bow appraiser. ◎ Stamp: MARC LABERTE ・Length: 74.5cm, Weight: 60.77g ・Stick material: Pernambuco wood ・Fittings material: Nickel ・Frog material: Ebony This bow was handcrafted using high-quality Pernambuco wood from that era, with every step of the process involving manual wood shaping. The stick is in good condition with no warping. According to a joint appraisal by Jean-François Raffin, Yannick Le Canu, and Sylvain Bigot, this bow was made by Marc Laberte himself. While many bows were produced at the LABERTE-HUMBERT workshop, which was also Marc Laberte's workshop at the time, the MARC LABERTE stamp certifies it as his own work. It features strong and elastic high-quality Pernambuco wood, a slender stick characteristic of modern French bows, and a beautifully crafted curve. Due to the use of high-quality, strong, and elastic Pernambuco wood from that period, the stick is finished with a slender profile, as is typical of French bows. The stick is made of beautiful reddish-brown Pernambuco wood. The type of Pernambuco wood used is 'Caesalpinia Echinata'. Pernambuco wood, an evergreen tree from the Fabaceae family, is said to be the most suitable wood for violin bows due to its hardness. The frog is original from that era, meticulously handcrafted from 'Madagascar ebony wood', with beautiful natural mother-of-pearl inlay on the eye.
