A work by world-renowned craftsman Hideaki Maejima. A mask without a title. It can be seen as a stray dog, a fox, or a raccoon dog. Perhaps such unclassifiable creatures become legends. Perfect for a diverse society. [Hideaki Maejima] Born in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1939. Although he began sculpting entirely self-taught, through the hardships he experienced in his childhood and youth, he became aware of being alive and received divine revelation, deciding to pursue the path of wood carving, carving life into wood. After solo exhibitions in New York, he held exhibitions in six major cities and across the country. He established his unique art with a warm perspective that explores the human inner self and works that express various emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure, earning high praise from a wide audience. He also held his first European exhibition in Paris in 1993, increasing his international fanbase. [Condition] In excellent preserved condition. There are no chips or scratches that appear to have been added later. There is overall age-related dirt and color changes. As this is an antique item, perceptions of age, condition, and content may vary. Please purchase with an understanding that this is an antique/used item.
