The hamon (temper line) is Sanbon-sugi midare (three cedar irregular pattern), a style said to have been created by Magoroku Kanemoto. It features pointed edges with varying heights of tempering, creating a pattern that resembles a cedar grove, hence the name Sanbon-sugi. In later periods, the pointed edges became larger. This piece is a replica of a later Magoroku Kanemoto, featuring sharp pointed edges with a subtle wave pattern, creating a double hamon. The fittings are elegantly crafted with a bamboo and笹 (sasa - bamboo grass) motif. The tsuba (hand guard) is made of iron. The seppa (spacers) are made of shakudo (a copper-gold alloy) to tighten the fit. It is rare to find a replica sword with such specifications. It exudes the atmosphere of a genuine sword. Furthermore, the blade has a fuller, making it well-balanced and feel light. Recommended for intermediate to advanced iaido practitioners.
