Initial Price: ¥35,000 ~ Discounted Price: ¥31,000 Iai (drawing the sword) practice sword, with groove on blade. This is a replica of Seki no Magoroku Kanemoto. The hamon (temper line) is Sanbon-sugi Ranre (three-cedar irregular pattern), a style said to have been created by Magoroku Kanemoto. It features alternating high and low points in the temper, creating three pointed edges in succession, resembling a cedar grove, hence the name Sanbon-sugi. In later periods, the pointed edges become larger. This piece is a replica of a later period Magoroku Kanemoto, with sharp pointed edges in the hamon. The tsuba (hand guard) is an elegant black with a cross-shaped openwork design. The saya (scabbard) is lacquered with wisteria wrapping and inlaid with mother-of-pearl of leaping horses and plum blossoms. Such high specifications are rare for a replica sword, exuding the atmosphere of a genuine sword mounting. Furthermore, though difficult to see in the images, the hamon reveals small vertical lines within the Sanbon-sugi pattern. This Magoroku replica hamon has many points of interest. Please take this opportunity to add a unique Magoroku replica to your collection, different from other replica swords. Blade: Lightweight hard zinc alloy with groove Hamon: Gunome Sanbon-sugi Ranre (with fine lines) Niju Hamon (double temper line) Tsuka (Hilt): Genuine wood, genuine ray skin Tsuka-ito (Hilt wrap): Black cowhide twisted wrap Fuchi-Kashira (Hilt collar and pommel cap): Kyo Amikago (Kyoto net basket design) Menuki (Hilt ornaments): Oomaki Ryu (large coiled dragon) Tsuba (Hand guard): Cross-shaped openwork black tsuba (iron) Saya (Scabbard): Wisteria wrapped, mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquered saya Sageo (Scabbard cord): Brown-gold squared Asao cord Dimensions: Overall length: Approx. 106 cm Blade length: Approx. 73.0 cm (including habaki) Width at base: Approx. 3.1 cm Width at tip: Approx. 2.1 cm Tsuka length: Approx. 25.8 cm Sori (Curvature): Approx. 1.7 cm Weight: 812g (without saya) Overall, the sword shows no signs of Iai use and is in beautiful condition. There are minor scratches on the blade and saya that are difficult to capture in the photos. Please purchase with the understanding that this is a used item. Ideal for Iai, display, and cosplay. Especially recommended for Iai-do practice due to its light weight. The tsuba and koiguchi (mouth of the saya) are not loose.
