Kuwabara Suiho Sensei Calligraphy Artwork Panel Ganju (含絨) Size: Approx. 27 cm x 19 cm Thickness: Approx. 1.8 cm This is a very precious work by Kuwabara Suiho Sensei, who also gave instruction to His Majesty the Emperor. While I believe the condition is not bad, please purchase with the understanding that this is a long-term home storage item. It will be carefully packed and shipped. Please note that recycled materials may be used for packing. [Kuwabara Suiho (桑原 翠邦)] Born in 1906 in Obihiro Town, Kasai District, Hokkaido (present-day Obihiro City). In 1921, he entered the Sapporo Railway Training School and began to focus on calligraphy after studying under Otsuka Tsurudo. He also met Kaneko Tei and Miyake Hanyu, who would later become calligraphers, during his time at the railway training school. After graduating from the railway training school in 1924 and starting a job, he was encouraged to move to Tokyo by Kawaya Shotei and Hidai Tenrai, who successively visited Hokkaido. In 1932, he moved to Tokyo with Kaneko and subsequently studied under Hidai Tenrai. The following year, he joined the Shodo Geijutsu-sha (Calligraphy Art Society), which was formed with Ueda Sōkyū as its central figure. After the war, while maintaining a certain distance from the calligraphy world, Kuwabara, like his teacher Tenrai, traveled throughout Japan, distributing his calligraphy and striving to spread Tenrai's style of writing (hence, he was also known as a traveling calligrapher). Many of Kuwabara's works are said to remain in various locations even today. In 1972, he gave a calligraphy lecture at the Imperial Palace. He passed away on March 27, 1995. A video of Kuwabara's interview and calligraphy demonstration, filmed in 1995, remains, in which Kuwabara writes Heisei 7 (1995) March 19th, showing that he was vigorous until his final days. #KuwabaraSuiho #CalligraphyArtwork #Calligrapher #Artist #ArtPiece #ArtObject #Calligraphy Click here for the manufacturer's site Easy to find furniture and interiors!
