【Product Description】 Bronze Pen Tray, Shoko-sha Made, Kobayashi Miharu Sculpture, Dragon Cicada Motif New, unused, stored item. This is a rare, non-sale item distributed by Sumitomo Bank to its clients. As shown in the images, the condition is good, with the wooden box and the pen tray itself being kept in excellent condition. However, please purchase with an understanding of home storage; those who are sensitive should refrain. 【Size】 Height x Width x Depth = 23.7 x 7.8 x 1.2 cm Recess Height x Width = 19.5 x 6.8 cm Please note that these are amateur measurements. 【Detailed Description (Quoted)】 This bronze pen tray is modeled after the dragon and cicada motif found on Tōtetsu-zenmon-so (Early Western Zhou Dynasty, circa 1000 BCE), one of the rare artifacts among the Sumitomo family's collection of ancient Chinese bronzes housed at the Sen-oku Hakubutsukan (Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City). Since ancient times, the cicada has been a symbol of nobility, and its motif was used to decorate ritual vessels. So (altar/tray), a form of ritual vessel, was a cooking utensil. The actual item measures 18.8 cm in height and 41.8 cm in length. This item, however, was sculpted by Mr. Kobayashi Miharu, a judge for the Nitten Exhibition, for use as a pen tray. #Antique #Curio #Bronze #Pen Tray Click here for the manufacturer's site
