This is a solid color kimono meticulously crafted by Tatsumura Shin, who inherits the lineage of Heizo Tatsumura, the founder of Tatsumura Art Textiles. Tatsumura Shin is the third son of the first Heizo Tatsumura, who received the Imperial Academy of Arts Award for his achievements in dyeing and weaving, including the restoration of Shosoin textiles. He dedicated his 90-year life solely to the creation of obi, producing over 500 obi patterns. He sought inspiration from the far reaches of the Silk Road, Persia, and even Europe, recreating ancient patterns in his obi. He created Densho Meikin, a supreme obi that embodies the artisan's skill and artistry as a practical item. This kimono features a rich woven pattern that complements the obi of Tatsumura Art Textiles. The artist's signature and seal are placed on the衽 (okumi - overlapping front panel). Solid color kimonos are extremely useful and can be worn for a long time as semi-formal attire. They are perfect for slightly formal occasions such as tea ceremonies and parties. If you add a single family crest (紋 - mon), it can be worn more broadly as formal wear. We hope you will cherish this kimono when paired with your existing fukuro obi. (^^) ● Japanese Color: A yellowish-brown green close to Miru-iro (seaweed green). ● Size: Wide collar, lined (awase) tailoring No family crest Length: 168cm Sleeve to center back length: 68cm Sleeve length: 49cm Front width: 26cm Back width: 30cm Approximate tuck-in for sleeve length: 1cm Approximate hem allowance: 7cm *Please note that these are amateur measurements and may have slight errors. ● Material: Kimono fabric, lining, and collar lining are all 100% silk. ● Condition: This kimono was tailored in 2005. It has undergone pearl tone processing. Basting threads are attached to the collar, sleeves, okumi, and hem. There are folding creases, but it is an unworn, unused item. It is a beautiful item, but please purchase with the understanding that it is a personal item. ● Other Notes: Please be aware that the color may appear differently on your monitor, so those who are particular about subtle shades should exercise caution. We also have many other kimonos, obi, Japanese accessories, antiques, and designer brands for sale!
