Up for sale is a beautiful matching pair of genuine antique blue-and-white plates manufactured by Thomas Hughes & Son in Staffordshire, England. Based on the official printed blue crown backstamp on the reverse side, this pair dates precisely between 1895 and 1910. The stamp reads Thos. Hughes & Son, England / Semi-Porcelain and lacks the Ltd designation, confirming it was manufactured prior to the company's official corporate incorporation in 1910. These plates feature an elegant late-Victorian floral transferware pattern set against a scalloped, embossed rim. The design showcases the classic, highly collectible flow blue bleeding effect around the cobalt blue floral edges.
