This is a handmade Chigiri-e (torn paper art) piece titled Sakura no Utage (Cherry Blossom Banquet), size P10. A single cherry tree, standing tall and proud towards the heavens. It evokes a scene of everyone gathering, looking up in awe at its magnificent and beautiful form. The texture of Japanese paper, created by the unique frayed edges of Chigiri-e, expresses the cherry blossoms, the grand tree, and the entire background. It creates a subtle atmosphere with a transparency, gentleness, and warmth that cannot be achieved with paints. Please decorate your entryway or room with Chigiri-e, a traditional Japanese art form. We believe it will bring you a sense of comfort and healing. [Size] Height approx. 41 cm x Width approx. 53 cm x Thickness approx. 4 mm Please allow for slight variations. [Artist Introduction (Anonymous)] The artist of this Sakura no Utage has been creating Chigiri-e for nearly 30 years. Due to their advanced age (93 years old), each piece is one-of-a-kind.
