For sale is an exceptional, matching pair of vintage Jamaican folk art linen tea towels. These pieces were handcrafted by the historic Allsides Workroom of the Jamaican Women's League, a famous peasant-craft project established in the 1930s. Item Details: - Quantity: Pair of two (2) complementary towels. - Designs: One features a traditional Caribbean market woman carrying a tray of tropical fruit (pineapple, watermelon) on her head. The other depicts a chef carrying baked goods in front of a village landscape. - Artistry: Gorgeous raised fabric appliqué, detailed hand-embroidery, and bold contrasting fabric borders at the hem. - Dimensions: Approximately 16.5 inches wide by 27.5 inches long. - Material: High-quality, authentic pure linen weave. Condition: Both towels are in excellent, unused vintage condition. The colors are incredibly bright and vibrant, the appliqué fabric is crisp, and the linen fabric is clean and strong with no holes, dry rot, or stains. Perfect for collectors of international folk art, textile historians, or for framing as unique kitchen wall decor.
