Fantastic vintage mismatched statement earrings, likely dating to the 1980s, featuring a whimsical traffic/street-sign motif. One earring features an oversized black hoop with a dangling traffic light and octagonal “STOP” stud. The coordinating earring features a red STOP sign stud with colorful faceted bead dangles, a hand-lettered TURN sign, and dangling traffic light. The intentionally mismatched design gives these a wonderfully playful Memphis-era / wearable-art feel. Constructed primarily of lightweight plastic/acrylic components with metal findings and post backs. The traffic lights feature dimensional red, yellow and green lenses. Particularly fun oversized novelty jewelry with lots of movement. Approx. size: • Longer earring: about 3.25” long • Hoop earring: about 2.5” long/wide Please see measurement photo for scale. Condition: Very good vintage condition with normal light age/use wear. Posts and backs are present. No maker’s mark found. Please review all photos, including the backs, as they are part of the description. Era: Likely 1980s Style: Novelty / Statement / Wearable Art / Pop Art / Memphis-inspired Material: Plastic/acrylic, metal, faceted beads Closure: Pierced post
