Thank you for looking. By Toshiaki Ohtoshi Awaji Doll: Osome in the Dressing Room This is an oil painting depicting the Awaji Doll. It is a still life work with the doll as the subject, rather than a person, and has high artistic value. This piece was originally purchased directly from the artist by my mother. The back of the frame is inscribed with the title and artist's name, and a certificate of authenticity is also attached. The artist is known as a Western-style painter associated with Hyogo Prefecture, and is highly regarded for his works inspired by local culture and the Awaji Doll. This piece beautifully contrasts the vibrancy of the red costume with the subdued background, featuring impressive rich colors and powerful brushstrokes. It is easy to display in both Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, and is recommended for traditional Japanese houses, inns, shop decorations, and Japanese modern interiors. [Size] Frame size: Approximately 550mm x 415mm [Technique] Oil painting (canvas) [Period] Believed to be from the 1970s (Showa era). [Condition] As this is a pre-owned item stored over time, there are scuffs, small scratches, and dirt on the frame. The artwork also has a patina consistent with its age. Please check the images for details. [Shipping] The item will be carefully packed and shipped via a trackable service. This item is being sold due to collection consolidation. It is a one-of-a-kind piece, and encounters with the same work are rare. I hope it will be appreciated by someone who likes it. Click here for the manufacturer's site
