This is a woodblock print from Keibun Kachoga Fu (Keibun's Album of Birds and Flowers) by Matsumura Keibun, a painter of the Shijo school who was active in the late Edo period. Size: Width: 20 cm Height: 27 cm The work depicts birds and plants standing by the water, rendered with delicate brushstrokes. It is a charming example of Shijo-style realistic and elegant depictions of birds and flowers. The calm composition and soft rendering are beautiful, making it a recommended piece for display or collection. The signature and seal of Keibun can be seen in the lower right corner. A seal in the lower left corner indicates that this is a copyrighted woodblock print produced around 1894 (Meiji 27). Matsumura Keibun was a painter who inherited the style of the Shijo school founded by his elder brother, Matsumura Goshun. He is particularly known for his many excellent works of bird and flower paintings. #List of Living National Treasures currently listed #List of artworks currently listed Click here for the manufacturer's site
