This is a one-mon Irotomesode, featuring hand-painted Kyo-Yuzen designs of tachibana (mandarin orange), kikkou (tortoiseshell), and seigaiha (waves) on a light azuki bean colored base, with some gold thread embroidery. The auspicious motifs like tachibana, kikkou, and seigaiha are beautifully highlighted on the karakusa (arabesque) patterned chirimen fabric, with the light azuki bean dye blending in perfectly.
Although it is an Irotomesode, it has been tailored in a Houmongi style without an extra lining (hibiki), allowing it to be worn as a Houmongi as well.
This item has been stored in a private home.
There are signs of wear, but no stains or dirt are visible. It has been stored cleanly.
