This is a masterpiece from Chiso, a company celebrating its 460th anniversary. This is a Chiso kimono featuring luxurious gold leaf accents and embroidery on a gray-blue base. Chiso (Chisō) is a long-established kimono store with its main branch in Kyoto, boasting over 460 years of history. It began as a dyer of ceremonial robes during the Azuchi-Momoyama period and became a prestigious name in the Edo period, supplying the Imperial Court and feudal lords. Since the Meiji era, it has continued to create formal kimonos as a leading figure in Yuzen dyeing, and today, it handles numerous works commissioned by the Imperial family and collected by museums. Its design aesthetic, which fuses tradition and innovation, is highly acclaimed.
