Thank you for viewing! This is a silk Meisen Michiyuki coat. The black base with red and white polka dots is adorable. The tailoring is lovely, featuring a modern Chiyoda collar and decorative buttons from Western clothing. There are remnants of stitching from the kimono era near the front and back sides. This item has been remade from a kimono that was washed and unpicked. *Please refer to the photos for the stitching marks on both sides. The item has been stored after being remade and has not been worn. The lining is red cotton, which is new fabric. There is also a slight storage odor. The sleeves are short, making it easy to coordinate with Western clothing. The fabric itself has no stains or dirt due to the washing and unpicking process. It seems that the good parts of the fabric were remade into a coat. This item shows how much people in the past valued their belongings.
