1943★ German Wehrmacht ★ Partisan Sweep Soldier SNAKE Necklace ★ Battle of Neretva ★ WW2 Military Keywords: Chrome Hearts, Lone Ones, Crazy Pig Since the outbreak of World War II, partisans (anti-German forces) increased in neighboring Yugoslavia and launched a coup. In April 1941, the German army advanced with partisan sweep operations in this region. The Battle of Neretva, which took place from January to April 1943, is particularly famous and is also known as Operation White. The item for sale is a special necklace used by partisan sweep soldiers of that era. Although the Partisan Sweep Clasp was established by Führer's order on January 30, 1944, it was used by some units of the Army before that. This design symbolizes the sacred SNAKE from ancient murals, which are the roots of the regime at the time, as the embodiment of the soldiers. It expresses the strong will to relentlessly pursue and annihilate partisans/guerrillas who plot attacks on their homeland like snakes, under divine blessing. It is very powerful and conveys the strong determination of the unit to carry out its mission and its obsession with victory. It is frightening. These necklaces were commissioned by each unit to jewelers in Berlin with rough designs before being deployed. They served as talismans on the battlefield and were similar to American military challenge coins, also serving to strengthen unit cohesion. As over 80 years have passed since their production, there are scratches, etc., but it can be said that they have a very good vintage feel. They are made of silver-fill on a bronze base, but the plating has all peeled off due to age. It is an item with a high lead content to allow for complex processing.
