This exquisite vintage picture hat captures the essence of the Fall Season in a work of millinery art handmade by designer Rita Newberry - an English born and trained milliner / custom hat designer. The high quality black wool felt hat is professionally blocked to shape , then decorated with a silk brocade pleated band in subtle shades of amber, green and orange. Then comes the floral arrangement - a beautiful explosion of molded vintage velvet millinery leaves, flowers and berries true to nature and the autumn season in both color and variety. This arrangement is skillfully attached to the hat so that is will stay perfectly in place, probably forever, if the hat is well cared for! The leaves & flowers are professionally adhered to the hat, not just pinned or or stitched hurriedly onto the band as you often see.
This is a professionally made hat and it is absolutely exquisitely designed and executed!
It is also beautifully preserved.
I found it carefully stored in its original hat box which is included in the sale so you can keep the hat perfectly safe and perfectly clean!
This hat is in perfect condition and appears never to have been worn! It looks brand new.
Rita Newberry is a bespoke hat designer and only makes hats to custom order. Her hats are not sold in any retail outlets. This hat is one of a kind. Interior band measures 22.5
