Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible hand-thrown studio pottery covered dish by renowned Taos/Pilar, New Mexico artist Stephen Kilborn. This piece features his highly sought-after, iconic Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) pattern, which he first introduced in 1988. The vibrant, festive design showcases hand-painted pink skeletons, red chilis, and orange polka dots against a rich, glossy black glazed background. The lid features a unique, hand-sculpted three-dimensional ceramic skull knob that serves as the handle. Because each piece from Kilborn's studio is individually hand-thrown and painted, this is a truly one-of-a-kind work of Southwestern functional folk art. Measurements: Width: Approximately 6 1/4 inches Height: Approximately 6 inches (including the skull lid handle) Condition: Excellent, Flawless Condition: This piece is in perfect condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or flea bites. The glaze remains bright, glossy, and beautifully intact. It has been meticulously cared for in a smoke-free home. This is a fragile, hand-crafted ceramic piece. It will be wrapped securely in multiple layers of heavy-duty bubble wrap and double-boxed if necessary to ensure it arrives at your doorstep safely. Ships quickly with tracking and insurance included. Please view all photos closely as they are part of the description. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
