Old? Absolutely. Worn? Yep. Boring? Not a chance. This vintage Manson Swiss-made mechanical wristwatch has exactly what I love about an older watch — it looks like it has actually lived a life. The classic light dial features raised Arabic numerals and markers, slender vintage hands, and that wonderful smaller-case proportion that has largely disappeared from modern watches. I paired it with a bright blue genuine-leather strap, giving the old-school Swiss watch a fresh, casual look. And here's the important part: it runs really well. The crystal is nice and clear, the dial presents beautifully, and the case has genuine age-related wear, marks and patina. I did not try to erase 60-plus years of character and make it pretend to be new. That's the appeal of this one. Manson is an interesting little piece of American watch history, too. Vintage-watch references identify Manson as an in-house brand sold through the Fingerhut mail-order catalog during the late 1950s and early 1960s, using Swiss movements. Justin Time's Vintage Details Vintage Manson wristwatch Swiss Made Mechanical / manual wind Classic mid-century styling Clear crystal Clean dial Runs very well Bright blue genuine-leather strap Visible vintage patina and case wear Pre-owned vintage condition Not tested for water resistance — keep this old fellow dry This isn't the watch for someone looking for shiny and brand-new. It's for the guy who looks at an old watch and thinks, Now THAT has character. Small vintage watc
