Authentic Handwoven Appalachian Rib Basket by Joe Bruneau Description:Up for sale is a stunning, one-of-a-kind handwoven basket by renowned North Carolina artist Joe Bruneau. This piece is a masterclass in Appalachian rib basketry, combining traditional structural techniques with a modern, vibrant color palette.Construction: The basket features a sturdy, hand-harvested vine frame (likely grapevine or wisteria) and is woven with high-quality, hand-dyed rattan in shades of sky blue, dusty rose, sage green, and lavender.Design: It showcases the classic God's Eye lashing at the handle joins, a hallmark of traditional rib baskets. Its large, shallow profile makes it perfect as a tabletop centerpiece, a garden gathering basket, or a striking piece of wall art. Condition: Excellent pre-owned condition. The weave is tight, and the colors remain vibrant. No major breaks in the vine or rattan. Dimensions: Approximately 24 L x 14 W x 8 H. About the Artist:Joe Bruneau has been honing his craft since 1983. His work is highly collectible and frequently featured in upscale galleries like the Gallery of the Mountains in Asheville, NC. Each piece is unique and starts from the vine, utilizing locally sourced materials.
