New, Unopened ■The K171MKII is a headphone that is a compact version of AKG's top-of-the-line closed-back monitor headphones, the K271MKII. Despite its housing being about two sizes smaller than the K271MKII, it delivers first-class sound. It reproduces sound that is faithful to the original source, without the coloration typical of monitor headphones. ■The soundstage is slightly closer, and the high frequencies are distinct and very clear. The low frequencies are tight and clean around the outline, but slightly subdued. The high resolution of the sound allows you to clearly hear everything from the high to low frequencies. ■It is an on-ear type where the ear pads rest on top of the ears, characterized by strong clamping force. This ensures sufficient sound isolation, allowing you to concentrate on monitoring without being affected by ambient noise. ■Equipped with AKG's proprietary acoustic technology, XXL Transducer, also used in the higher-end models K271MKII and K240MKII. Developed for professional models, this acoustic technology reproduces clear mid and high frequencies that capture even the most delicate sounds by suppressing unnecessary vibrations with Varimotion Technology, which varies the diaphragm thickness, and by incorporating a Two-Layer Diaphragm developed with two different materials. ■Features a Bass Tube Function that reduces the low-frequency boominess characteristic of closed-back headphones. This tightens the low frequencies and improves sound resolution.
