Purchased new in March 2020. The board has not been crashed or repaired since purchase, but there are foot marks. Please check the photos for the condition and understand that this is a no-claim, no-return sale. The Sampler was developed with Dane Reynolds, sharing the idea of being able to surf well even in less-than-ideal conditions. The short and wide design is effective when waves are small or lack power. This model bridges the gap between fish-like boards such as The High 5 and The Pod Mod, and normal shortboards. Based on The Dumpster Diver, The Sampler has excellent speed performance due to its flat nose rocker and center rocker, while the gentle curve towards the tail allows for tight turns and airs. A deep single concave runs throughout the board, with a slightly weaker double concave between the fins, and a slight Vee at the tail. The outline features a gentle curve in the front half, becoming stronger towards the tail, with a slightly forward width compared to typical Al Merrick designs, leading to a wide, old-school squash tail.
