The original DAC board has been removed and replaced with a PHILIPS TDA1541A multi-bit DAC. The sound of classic multi-bit machines is revived for the modern era. I believe it has a warm, analog-like sound. It also has digital inputs, allowing you to play various sources through the TDA1541A. The DEM frequency is 220pF and is currently operating around 450kHz. Updates: Concerned about residual noise, the sampling rate converter (SRC4192I) was removed, and the system and DAC were galvanically isolated with a digital isolator (ISO7640). This has resulted in a perfect NOS (Non-OverSampling) configuration, with further improvements in rich bass, high-frequency clarity, and depth. The sound is completely different from modern 1-bit (delta-sigma) DACs like ESS and AK. While specs are important, this DAC comes from an era when music was pursued more earnestly. You will surely understand its quality once you hear it. The PHILIPS TDA1541A is well-suited for JAZZ and classical music. Select versions like S1 and S2 were used in high-end European machines of that era. Notes: * Please understand that this is a personal modification before purchasing. * We will repair issues if the unit cannot be powered on upon arrival. Documentation will be included. * The vTuner service has ended, so internet radio cannot be listened to with the unit alone. You can listen via AirPlay from your smartphone. * The smartphone app is no longer provided, so operation is limited to the unit's buttons and the remote control.
