Recommended for beginners and as a secondary flute, this is a 7-hole shakuhachi. ♪ It has a light and calm tone. ◇ About the Maker ◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes made by a father and daughter who have been a shinobue instructor in Shimane Prefecture for about 25 years and are flute makers. We craft shinobue and kagurabue flutes from madake (bamboo) grown along the Shizuma River (formerly Ginzan River), dried for over 3 years. ◇ Shipping Method ◇ We will ship within 1-3 days using Mercari's anonymous shipping with eco-friendly packaging. If you need it urgently, please leave a comment. ◇ Important Notes ◇ Shinobue flutes in Do-Re-Mi tuning have 7 holes. The first hole (the one furthest from the embouchure) is only open for pitch adjustment and is not intended for use during performance. (This is a common specification for Do-Re-Mi tuned flutes.) While some regions may use the first hole on Do-Re-Mi tuned flutes, on shinobue flutes from 1 to 8 hon-choshi (length), the first hole is out of reach. [Specifications] Accessories: Instruction Manual (Fingering Chart) ◯ Length: Approx. 43-45cm, Diameter: Approx. 19-21mm (near the embouchure) ◯ Material: Madake (bamboo) (dried for over 3 years and heat-treated) ◯ Holes: Inner surface coated with synthetic vermilion lacquer (CASHEW) ◯ Outer surface: Coated with synthetic transparent lacquer (CASHEW) ◯ Wrapping thread: Ivory color - A 16g weight is inserted inside the head of the tube for stability adjustment. - The reflector on the embouchure has been made with wood putty to prevent it from melting even in summer heat. - Tuned to produce Ro-on (1st octave), Ko-on (2nd octave), and Dai-ko-on (3rd octave) with varying breath strength. * Due to the use of natural bamboo, there are individual differences in tone and playing feel for each flute. Those accustomed to flutes from other makers may require some practice to produce the Dai-ko-on range. Additionally, the sound production may vary depending on the individual product and the player's skill. ◇ Please Note ◇ * Handmade. We offer these at an affordable price with the hope that many people will experience the shinobue. We ask for your understanding in this regard. Please check the condition in the photos, and refrain from purchasing if you are seeking perfection. * We ship after inspection, but in the unlikely event of an initial defect, please contact us *before* confirming receipt. We will promptly arrange for an exchange. * As natural bamboo is used, there may be scratches or processing marks. These do not affect the sound. #Uta-yo #Uta-mono #Shinobue #Takebue #Yokobue #7honchoshi Click here for the manufacturer's site
