Thank you for viewing. This reed is made from carefully selected, high-quality reeds from the Utono region. After being air-dried for approximately 1.5 to 2 years, it has been smoked over a traditional Japanese hearth (irori) for over 10 years. This process imbues the reed with both superior sound quality and durability, making it a top-grade product that is no exaggeration to call the best. We have also paid close attention to the cap, cement, and Japanese paper, using the finest materials cultivated over many years. We believe that past customer reviews of our reeds will help you understand this. Allow us to elaborate a bit. When we speak of smoking, there are various methods. Some involve using artificial smoking devices with smoke from waste wood, fallen branches, or dead leaves. Others involve smoking for only a few months or years. While these are all forms of smoking, what is true smoking? It is not like that. The sap within trees felled from the mountains rises with the smoke and coats the reeds over many years, nurturing them into resilient and firm reeds, much like smoked bamboo. Customers who have used reeds made from such painstakingly prepared reeds, including repeat customers, have given us numerous rave reviews, such as: What were the previous reeds I used? and I've never encountered a reed like this... the tone is completely different! If you have a preference, we can also accommodate requests for thicker or thinner reeds, so please let us know when you order. While we have finished these reeds to be playable immediately by beginners and women, please be aware that they will not produce sound with light or weak breaths. As our master instructor says, To produce a truly resonant tone, it is essential to blow with full breath. Although the price per reed may be slightly higher, we offer returns, exchanges, or any other form of support if you are not satisfied. We are confident that you will be pleased with these reeds, so please try them at least once. We apologize for the length, and thank you for reading to the end.
