This product allows you to extend Shimano rod stands by 30cm. Personally... I mainly fish for kiss (Japanese whiting) on the surf. Previously, I carried a Fixcel Surf + sand pole, but since I started using the extension kit, I no longer need the sand pole and have reduced my luggage. Also, by angling the rod, the reel gets closer to me, making it easier to flip the bail when baiting, which I find very useful. I think you won't be able to let go of it once you try it.
