This piece is from an era where the balance between structure and reality was refined after their experimental period following their debut in Paris. The design is, of course, from the era led by Rei Kawakubo. It features the classic single-breasted, notch lapel silhouette, but with a three-button front that is dan-gaeri (meaning the second button is the one that fastens, creating a specific lapel roll). Furthermore, the front two buttons are hidden placket. Minimal at first glance, but subtly detailed. This is the essence of COMME des GARÇONS from that time. The slightly longer length of 81cm naturally creates the vertical line characteristic of the 80s. It pairs perfectly with today's wide-leg pants.
