Anticipating Honey Harvest This is a 2-tier wooden tiered beehive with crossbars to prevent comb collapse, ideal for keeping Japanese honeybees. - Structure: 2-tier tiered structure - Japanese Honeybee Tiered Hive, 2 Tiers Japanese Tiered Hive 1 Tier Extension + 1 Tier Entrance Box with Landing Board I have been keeping honeybees for 6 years and have rebuilt several hives to reach this point. Standard large hives become unexpectedly heavy with the weight of honey, to the point where women cannot lift them. Working on a ladder is difficult. While harvesting honey is enjoyable, it can also be a challenging task, especially with excited bees. Therefore, I created a hive of a size that is easy to harvest, even for women, the elderly, or those with less strength. Top board: Plywood, 28cm x 28cm, 1cm thick Extension tier: 23cm x 23cm, 3cm thick Height: 17.5cm Landing board entrance box: 23cm x 23cm, 3cm thick Height: 17.5cm Entrance hole: Approximately 3mm Bottom board: Plywood, 24cm x 28cm, 1cm thick Acarine mite treatment holder: 23cm x 23cm The honey can be slippery during harvest, so handles are attached for easy lifting. Thin bamboo strips are attached to the extension tier to prevent comb from falling (naturally attached). They are designed to be removable. Please note that there may be slight dimensional errors due to wood warping. There are scratches and dirt. Please check the photos for details.
