This is a Tsugaru-nuri vase stand or incense burner stand. There are scratches and unevenness in the lacquer (Photos 5 & 6). This stand is used for placing vases, incense burners, etc. The robust layers of lacquer combine beauty and practicality. Technique: This is the Karanauri (唐塗) technique, a representative technique of Tsugaru-nuri. The unique speckled pattern is created by repeatedly layering lacquers of different colors and then polishing them smooth. Shape: It has a modern, clean square shape. The triangular parts are likely legs (脚) to elevate and display the main body. It can be transformed from a flat board into a tall decorative stand (flower stand). Features and Usage Height Adjustment: Attaching the legs creates a sense of space and allows vases and ornaments to be displayed more elegantly. Value: Tsugaru-nuri is so labor-intensive that it's sometimes called baka-nuri (fool's lacquer). Care Tips As this is lacquerware, please observe the following points to maintain its beauty for a long time: Avoid Direct Sunlight: Lacquer is sensitive to UV rays, which can cause discoloration. Beware of Dryness: Extreme dryness can cause cracking, so avoid places where air conditioner vents blow directly. Wipe Off Dirt with a Soft Cloth: If dust accumulates, gently wipe with a dry soft cloth. If the dirt is heavy, gently wash with lukewarm water and wipe dry. - Product Name: Tsugaru-nuri Vase Stand, Incense Burner Stand - Design: Decorative design with multi-colored patterns - Material: Wood - Size: Main Body (approx. 27cm x 16.5cm x 1.5cm) Legs (approx. 5.5cm x 5.5cm x 1.5cm) Outer Box (approx. 18cm x 28cm x 2cm) This item has been stored for a long time.
