Brand/Product: Polished Flat Slices, Yamashiro Meito Type: Finishing Whetstone Polished Slices Includes: One sample slice of Tangawa-produced neutral rust-resistant Iyo stone Weight: Product net weight 250g or more Origin: [Former Jingoji territory] Yamashiro Province, Kadono District - Narutaki Village, Hiraoka Village (Sho-naka), Zenmyoji Village (Omote-ura), Nakajima Village [Current] Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City - Narutaki to Umegahata Muka-no-chi Town, Okudono Town, Shobudani, Okosaka Town (within the Takao area) Raw Rock: Sedimentary rock > Metamorphic slate / Agyunol slate Hardness/Characteristics: For polishing with the tip of a stick, on Japanese paper, or on a finger. Assortment includes as many varieties as possible. Thin slices of neutral rust-resistant Iyo meito are useful for removing rust and scratches. Assortment of randomly selected polished slices. Total net product weight of 250g or more. The image is a representative sample. 10 example photos are provided. Please compare sizes with the cardboard measuring 3.5 x 15cm. Assorted Iyo Province or genuine Sanayama Yamashiro Province medium to high-grade meito, based on general origin and division. Within the Narutaki to Umegahata area, quality tends to depend on altitude, exposure to surface soil, wind and water, and layer type. Please judge the physical properties by actually touching them. For those pursuing advanced, competitive, and training-oriented approaches. Thickness approximately 1-8mm, polished on one side. Thicker pieces can be attached to the tip of a wooden stick with stone slurry, and very thin pieces can be broken with pliers to the size of a fingertip and attached to Japanese paper or a finger to polish the cutting edge, bevel, etc. Iyo stone is relatively coarse-surfaced and can be used for pre-treatment such as rounding deep scratches from artificial whetstones, rust removal, and polishing finishing whetstones. This product is part of a project to improve the whetstone manufacturing skills of young artisans. We appreciate your warm support and encouragement. The slices will be sent in a box within an envelope, without special cushioning. As they are intended to be further broken down for use, please consider that they may break during transport. Regarding whetstones labeled Iyo Meito, we are not involved with products that have strong acidity, are mined with heavy machinery, or are cut with diamond tombstone saws, as these are imitations or unauthorized labeling. Since around 2007, Iyo Meito has only been produced by Sazare Meito. For this classification, markings other than small chips are handwritten. We cannot answer inquiries about Iyo Meito that have been selected or manufactured by others and subsequently labeled.
