These are logs used for shiitake mushroom cultivation for 3-5 years, cut into pieces. Made from domestic Konara oak logs. How about using them for insect breeding? As shown in the photos, there are variations in size, diameter, length, and the extent of mycelial growth. They have been sun-dried for several days before listing. Insects may be present. If you are concerned, please heat-treat them before use. ? Size Length: Approximately 14-15 cm Diameter: Approximately 9-10 cm Comes in a set of 6 pieces. ? Hardness The wood is soft enough for a toothpick to penetrate, especially near the bark. Some pieces may have a harder core in the center. * These are shiitake cultivation logs where the mycelium has thoroughly penetrated and decomposed the wood. * Can also be used as food for larvae of rhinoceros beetles and other insects. * Some people use them as perches for adult insects. ? Please Note * As these are fully matured logs, some parts may be fragile. Please handle with care upon receipt. * Occasionally, Quercus acutissima logs may be mixed in. * No treatment for miscellaneous insects has been performed. If you are concerned, please heat-treat them before use. * Due to the nature of the product, changes in size and texture, cracks, peeling bark, and the growth of mold or moss may occur over time. * Shipping will be via anonymous delivery. * This is a personal listing, not from a business.
