■P390■ USA ■ HillRom ■ Raymond Loewy ■ School Chair ■ Compass Leg ■ Mid-Century ■ West Coast ■ Vintage Introducing an extremely rare vintage wood chair designed in the 1950s by Raymond Loewy, the master who shaped the golden age of American industrial design in the 20th century, responsible for everything from lipstick to locomotives. This chair, a symbol of post-war American mid-century modern design, perfectly embodies the essential functional beauty of industrial design with the rustic warmth of molded plywood and the skillful steel joint structure that supports it. It transcends the concept of mere seating, transforming any dining space or desk area into a unique and sophisticated vintage style that blends the rationalism of that era with a nostalgic charm. A key attraction is the elegant upward curve of the steel frame supporting the backrest, and the compass structure of the tapered wooden legs extending outwards. While possessing Loewy's signature flowing silhouette, the robust welded joints, designed to withstand harsh use, provide exquisite accents, elevating the contrast between wood and steel to an artistic level. The seat and backrest feature gentle, three-dimensional curves that comfortably fit the human body, offering exceptional support that belies its rugged appearance. The aged, amber-toned wood grain and the industrial aesthetic of the bolted metal parts create a vintage charm that harmonizes perfectly with modern Seattle style, West Coast modern, and eye-catching displays in apparel shops, promising a rich and enduring interior experience for collectors. Please consider this opportunity. Condition: This is a used item with scratches, scuffs, and dirt as shown in the photos, but there is no major damage and it is in good working order. Dimensions: Width 40cm, Depth 48cm, Height 78cm, Seat Height 45.5cm. Click here for the manufacturer's site
