It is used for a wide range of applications, including accessory making, crafts, and sculpting. ◆ Benefits of PMC3 ● 1. Becomes Pure Silver (99.9%) after firing. Compared to general silver accessories (SV925), it has higher purity, is softer, and results in a brighter silver finish. ● 2. Can be fired with simple home equipment. - Small kiln for gas stoves - Electric kiln - Burner etc. A major advantage is that it can be handled without specialized equipment. ● 3. Can be freely shaped in clay form. - Sculpting - Molding - Texturing - Bending Shapes that are difficult to achieve with metalworking can be intuitively created with clay. ● 4. Stable shrinkage rate (approx. 10-12%) PMC3 shrinks less than other series, making size management easier and thus easier for beginners to handle. ● 5. Easy to polish and finish. The fired silver is soft and can be easily polished to a shine with sandpaper, polishing compounds, or cloth. ◆ Disadvantages of PMC3 ● 1. Prone to cracking when dry. In its clay state, it is prone to cracking as moisture is lost, so care must be taken with humidification and storage. ● 2. Strength after firing is soft like silver. While pure silver (99.9%) is beautiful, its hardness is lower than SV925, making it unsuitable for parts requiring high strength. ● 3. Shrinks during firing.
