?? As this is a PVP registered variety, sale by propagation such as runners is prohibited ?? Centipedegrass TifBlair This is the product page for 120 plants. We will send the seedlings as pictured. Grown in 200-cell pots from officially purchased seeds. We plant them at intervals of 25-30 cm on rice paddy levees. Before planting, we thoroughly remove weeds with herbicide. For a while after planting, we remove weeds by hand and water every 2-3 days. (If you find this troublesome, the TifBlair will gradually overcome the weeds even if you just mow them.) With occasional weeding, it will grow in nicely within three years. For us, levee maintenance has been reduced to twice-yearly mowing! (using a Spider Mower) The leaves turn reddish-brown in winter as they die back. New shoots emerge in spring and become lush green by summer. [Planting Period Recommended by Takii] Late May to Late August In my experience, on slopes, the grass grows about 20% upwards and 80% downwards. Therefore, I plant it higher up on slopes. ~~~~~~ ● Height: 10-25 cm. Spreading stems grow rapidly, forming a dense turf with closely spaced nodes. ● Strong cold tolerance; there are records of it withstanding temperatures as low as -23.5°C in the US (common varieties cannot survive even around -10°C). ● Thick, deep roots firmly anchor the soil on levees and slopes. ● Earlier spring germination than common varieties, with dense stolons that maintain greenness until late autumn. This effectively suppresses weed growth. ● Excellent longevity; once established on levees, it requires almost no mowing for over 10 years. ● Highly adaptable to soil conditions, growing in soil pH from 4.2 to 8.5. Shows very little growth inhibition on reclaimed coastal land. From Takii Seed Co., Ltd. data ~~~~~~ Sent in the pot Shipped via Yu-Pack. Important Notes The photos are for reference only.
