【Size】Diameter 9.3cm, Height 6.2cm 【Condition】New, Unused 【Material】Ceramic 【Capacity】Approximately 200cc when filled to the brim 【Weight】Approximately 200g 【Notes】Microwave (Yes) / Dishwasher (Yes) 【Origin】Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture *This is a set of 2 Mashiko-ware soba cups from Tochigi Prefecture. Soba cups (choko), which were said to be commonly made of porcelain in the past, were used for drinking sake or serving small dishes. However, as soba noodles and other noodle dishes gained popularity during the Edo period, the soba cup became established as a container for dipping sauce. Soba cups are versatile vessels that can be used for desserts, side dishes, steamed dishes, potato salad, coffee, and more – they are truly all-purpose containers. *Mashiko-ware has been popular as everyday tableware since kilns were established in the late Edo period. This tableware embodies the characteristic of Mashiko-ware: a plump, warm, and tactile feel. Its simple design and rustic charm are also appealing. *As Japanese pottery is finished by hand, each piece has unique variations and a distinct appearance. Sizes may also vary slightly depending on the product. Please understand that variations such as color tone, glaze density, pattern differences, crazing (fine cracks), visible unglazed areas, small holes, glaze drips, uneven coloring, fading, warping, scorching, and uneven firing may occur in individual products. Please purchase with an understanding of these characteristics. *Please note that the actual product color may differ from the on-screen color due to the shooting environment and the device you are viewing it on. *Products will be shipped randomly from our stock. *Precautions for Microwave and Dishwasher Use ◇Microwave/Oven *Earthenware has high water absorbency. If heated in the microwave after absorbing a lot of moisture, the rapid heating can cause the water to expand, making it prone to cracking. Please be careful. *Avoid heating when the item is extremely cold from the refrigerator, as this can cause it to crack easily. ◇Dishwasher *Place the items in the dishwasher so that they do not collide excessively with each other. (Earthenware is more fragile than porcelain and can break more easily.) *Due to the high water absorbency of earthenware, please dry thoroughly after washing. *We have many other tableware items available, so please take a look. #nanaroom #MatsuBokkuri *These are from the same seller and can be combined for shipping. Please take a look. *We welcome combined orders and purchases of multiple items. Please feel free to comment with any requests or inquiries. Click here for the manufacturer's site
