Product details This is a sale of SEACHEM MATRIX.
    1 liter = 750 grams

List price on Amazon is 5,386 yen per 1L.

I have kept Arowana in a large 180cm aquarium for about 6 years without water changes for half a year. I never experienced any diseases. I believe it is the optimal solution for nitrate removal. (Ethanol is optimal as a carbon material.)
After use, it has been washed clean and dried for storage. Below are the product details.

    Matrix is:
    - A high-density, porous filter media that provides excellent biological filtration for processing ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.
    - This product has a surface area of over 700 square meters per liter, which is equivalent to over 170 liters of regular plastic ball filter media.
    - It also has porous areas internally, making it ideal for the proliferation of nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria.

★★★How to Use Seachem Matrix (as filter media)

Seachem Matrix is a high-performance filter media with a porous structure, primarily used for **biological filtration (bacterial colonization)**. It is effective in breaking down ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

    ① Preparation before use
? Lightly rinse with water before use (to remove dust and dirt).
? Do not use detergents or chlorinated water.

    ② Placement
? Place in the biological filtration zone of your filter.
    ? Typical order:
    1. Filter floss (mechanical filtration)
    2. Sponge
    3. Matrix (place here)

The key is to place it where water can flow through it well.

    ③ Recommended amount
? Approximately 250ml supports 100L of water volume.
? Adjust according to water volume and number of fish.

    ④ Maintenance
? Basically, no replacement is necessary (can be used for a long time).
? If you are concerned about dirt:
? Lightly rinse with aquarium water (dechlorinated water).
? Do not wash vigorously (to protect bacteria).

    ⑤ Precautions
? It takes time for bacteria to establish in the initial setup (about 2-4 weeks).
? Can be used in conjunction with other filter media (e.g., ceramic rings).
