This is a Oki-torō (decorative lantern) made of Nambu ironware, a traditional craft from Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. This listing is for one unit, but we have another identical one available. Please contact us if you wish to purchase two units. We can offer a discount on shipping. It has been stored in its original box with the accompanying instruction manual. This is a beautiful piece that showcases the characteristic heaviness and unique subtle beauty of Nambu ironware. As indicated in the manual, it can be used not only as a lantern but also as an ashtray or a mosquito coil holder. It will add a striking presence to the tokonoma (alcove) or tea shelf in a Japanese-style room, as well as to modern interiors. ●Condition ?This item has been stored long-term as unused. ?The inside of the lid has the names of both families inscribed for a wedding anniversary. This is a great deal for those who don't mind this detail. ?The outer box shows some age-related deterioration (scuffs and discoloration), but the main body retains its characteristic heavy beauty of ironware. *Please check the photos for the condition. #mamezakura_shop ●Size (approximate) Diameter: approx. 13cm Height: approx. 12cm We hope to pass this item on to someone who can appreciate the charm of Nambu ironware and will cherish it. #NambuIronware #TraditionalCraft #Morioka #OkiToro #Wamodern #Antique #MosquitoCoilHolder #Ashtray Click here for the manufacturer's site
