Up for sale is a captivating, one-of-a-kind original pen and ink drawing by the acclaimed contemporary artist and master illustrator, Alexander Valdman. Executed in 2002, this piece appears to be an intricate book illustration study, showcasing the artist’s exceptional background in formal book design and masterful draftsmanship. The artwork features a striking, high-contrast composition. The left side depicts an intimate, naked embrace between two lovers, their forms intertwined with stylized roses and thorny vines. On the right, a beautifully rendered Cupid flies mid-air, having just released an arrow. The meticulous fine-line work, cross-hatching, and stark dual-panel design beautifully blend classical mythology with modern surrealism. As a unique production study, this piece offers a rare, unfiltered glimpse into the artist's creative process, making it a highly desirable addition for collectors of fine illustration and surrealist art.Artwork DetailsArtist: Alexander ValdmanMedium: Original Pen Ink on PaperYear: 2002Type: Original Book Illustration Study / Drawing (One-of-a-Kind)Signature: Hand-signed and dated in pencil by the artist in the lower right margin (A.
